The Winners of the Anna Davidson Rosenberg Poetry Awards, 2012

First Prize (shared):
Lauren Camp
and Yosefa Raz

The 2012 Anna Davidson Rosenberg Poetry Awards for Poems on the Jewish Experience were awarded to two poets. Based on their outstanding submissions, the judges elected to award one prize this year, a first prize-award to be shared jointly.

Lauren Camp is the author of the poetry collection This Business of Wisdom (West End Press) and the CD I Am and You Are, a soundscape with poetic vignettes. Her poems are forthcoming in J Journal, World Literature Today, and you are here. In 2011, she guest edited a special section on the poetry of Iraq for Malpaís Review. Also an accomplished visual artist, Lauren blogs about poetry at Which Silk Shirt, and runs Notes To Cecil, a new media installation of poetry and photographs on Tumblr. On Sundays, she hosts “Audio Saucepan,” a global music and poetry program on Santa Fe Public Radio.

Yosefa Raz resides in Oakland, California and sometimes in Tel Aviv, Israel. Yosefa is a Ph.D. candidate at Cal in the joint UC Berkeley-Graduate Theological Union Jewish Studies Program, writing on biblical prophecy and its reception in modernist Hebrew poetry. Her poetry book, In Exchange for a Homeland, was published by Swan Scythe Press; her poetry, fiction and translations have also appeared in ZYZZYVVA, Glimmer Train, Lilith, Tikkun and Bridges.

Please join us at a reception in honor of this year’s winners
